and Loss Control Updates Continuing Education Course
Thank you to all who attended the 2022 Umialik Agency Summit. It was great to meet and talk with you about Loss Control, safety, risk, and other relevant topics. This was my first Summit, and I have to say it was quite the event. Kudos to the hard-working Umialik staff that made it all happen!
The Loss Control presentations focused on three key aspects of business in Alaska: the opportunity to use a job hazard analysis to assess and reduce exposures to workers, an update on OSHA programs and Directives, and exposures and control for commercial and personal lines property. These programs were well-attended and standing room only at the Fireweed Business Center facility. It was an added bonus to have Mitch Sharpe, Loss Control Director at Western National Insurance Group, along for the presentation. His thermography session was quite eye-opening, and this Loss Control tool will help to assess electrical exposures in buildings.
