A Message from Stacey Matteson

It’s hard to believe that March is way behind us, and our Agency Summit is over! Thank you to all those who joined us for another successful event.

Throughout April and May, our Personal Lines Team has been working diligently to prepare for the launch of our new Home Program in ProducerEngage. We have received filing approval from the State of Alaska with effective dates of June 1, and a system go-live date of May 23, 2023. In the coming weeks, Chandler McClain will reach out to set up agency training sessions for our new Home Program.

Commercial lines has seen tremendous growth over the last five years, which helped us recognize the need for a more formalized team structure. We are pleased to announce two internal promotions to support our continued commercial lines growth. Please join me in congratulating both Pam Lewis and Melissa Walker on their new role as Commercial Lines Manager.

So, how are we doing through April? It has been weather and more weather, and we have seen an increase in the number of the weight of ice and snow claims in the Anchorage area this season. Large snow totals this year have led to collapse claims; however, we continue to perform well. Through April, we have achieved our company’s top line goals, with commercial lines slightly behind last year. Personal lines has exceeded their top-line goals, with Personal Auto exceeding growth expectations year to date. Our loss ratios continue to improve, and we expect that we will reach our target before summer ends.
